Pink Nu-Grunge FOTD

Pink Nu-Grunge FOTD

Lately, I’ve been all over tumblr taking inspiration from just about everything. This weekend a few tags caught my eye – nu-grunge and grunge pastel.  I’ve put together this pink grunge-y face of the day look channeling this inspiration while using some of the products I’ve already reviewed on my blog.

On the eyes, I placed shadows from the Lime Crime Venus Palette: Muse, Veuns, Shell, Aura, and a little Divine blended in the crease. Highlight is Bitter Lace Beauty Enchanted. Bronzer is MAC Blunt. Lips are La Splash in Lovestruck. The mascara is a blend of my two favorite mascaras for short, stubby lashes – Sephora Outrageous Volume and Rimmel Lash Accelerator.

As you can see, the Venus Palette shades pulled very pink/purple on my skin as opposed to the marsala hues seen in the pan, thus, I’ve named this a pink nu-grunge FOTD. Although I am a bit sad it was not as red as I imagined, I still love how these colors look on my skin and bring out my eyes.

This La Splash color is from their Smitten Lip Tint Mousse collection. I adore all the shades they have! My only concern is that the smell is very strong – reminiscent of paint. The staying power is good; just make sure to apply evenly or else as it wears you will end up with a gritty texture due to it pilling off your lips.

Hope you enjoyed this look. Let me know what you think!

Absolutely loving this pastel grunge look on you! I really like how the eyeshadow and lipstick are both that soft and pretty orchid color and this shade really looks lovely with your green eyes.

I absolutely love your style and wish I was brave enough to rock such bold colors! You look fabulous! You inspired me to put on my cat eyes today, but I lost my eyeliner. 🙁 But tomorrow i’m heading to the store to get more. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you, thank you for this! I have a couple pink eyeshadows but have no idea how to wear it without looking like I’m having an eye infection, this is perfection! And gosh, I adore LASplash liquid lipsticks, they are some of the best!

that’s gorgeous! Pink doesn’t seem to work for me. Maybe because I don’t blend it well, but when I wear pink shadow, I look like I have bruised eyes lol
