One thing you’ve got to know about me is that I LIVE for a good bargain!
Some of my favorite early memories are of me and my mother wading through the sale racks and TJ Maxx, Ross, and Nordstrom Rack. To be honest, bargain hunting as a young child taught me a lot of the basic math skills needed to pass most standardized test! (You know like taking a discount, adding my purchases together, and calculating tax! THANKS MOM!)
Anyway, back to the topic at hand: Bargaining with Brit! TJ Maxx Volume 1.
We’ve all pretty much seen the TJ Maxx commercials featuring a #maxxinista living her #maxxlife with fabulous clothing and accessory finds but did you know TJ Maxx also carries discounted drugstore and prestige beauty/cosmetic brands as well? If you are willing to wade through the off-brand or generic brands, you can find some hidden gems like Make Up For Ever and Kat Von D!
Of course, I can’t buy every awesome thing I discover, but, every trip at least a few items make it to check out – THESE ARE THEIR STORIES!
St. Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower Tanning Lotion – $9.99
HOLY COW! What a gem! I think we can all agree that St. Tropez can be classified as a “luxury tanning” brand. With products ranging from $25-$48, I thought it would be a pipe dream to find these products at my local TJ Maxx. I love adding a bit of self-tanner to my routine for a complexion boost and a little extra moisture. This is a “light” shade, so I’m hoping it’ll be enough for maintaining a more even skin tone instead of darkening unnaturally.
St. Tropez Gradual Tan Classic Everyday Mousse – $9.99
More tanning thangs. I’m a big fan of tanning mousse so, of course, I had to pick this up and give it a test. I’m hoping this will give me a little boost in maintaining my golden complexion.
Maybelline Baby Lips Clinical Care Lip Balm – $1.99
Sucker for lip balms. This one said PEPPERMINT and CLINICAL – I couldn’t say no. Perfect to keep at my desk or on my coffee table because I must have a balm or chapstick in every room!
L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara – $3.99
This product used to be all the rage over on r/makeupaddiction and now I finally get to try it at a discounted price. I don’t know about you, but I feel more risk-averse the more hyped a product is. I picked this little baby up for only $3.99 – compared to the $7.99 Ulta Beauty price. Now, I can try it out and not feel so guilty about being robbed by drugstore beauty prices.
Glam Glow Plumprageous Gloss Lip Plumper – $12.99
There’s just something about Glam Glow that compels me to want to try everything that they make! I received the Super Mud as a gift and I’ve pretty much fallen in love with the company. I’m not really a fan of glosses or lip plumpers (I’m not a shopping addict, I swear) but I thought I would give it a try!
Velour Lashes Two Easy Lash Applicator – $7.99
I’ve been wearing lashes for a few years now. Normally I use tweezers, but this tool just seems safer. I like the long slanted edge because I can really grip the lashes and place the lash band along my lash line. I have seen this same tool design but in gold on Sephora.com and VelourLashes.com retailing between $22 and $25. Same product in a different color for $14 cheaper? I’ll take it!
